Relax and Rejuvenate
With Massage Therapy

Massage is a great support to your physical therapy treatments, helping muscles accept the adjustments and avoid the tendency to revert to old movement habits and pain patterns.

By definition, massage is the application of various soft-tissue manipulation techniques to the body, generally intended to reduce stress and fatigue while improving circulation.

Benefits of massage can be both physical and mental.  These can include:

  • Alleviate lower back pain and improve range of motion, assist with shorter, easier labor for expectant mothers and shorten maternity hospital stays, ease medication dependence, enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow (the body’s natural defense system), exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles, increase joint flexibility, promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks, improve circulation, reduce spasms and cramping and relieve migraine pain.

What our patients say

I injured my knee a couple months ago and was referred by my primary care doctor for an MRI and physical therapy. The MRI revealed some tearing to the meniscus and some additional issues. I wanted to avoid surgery so I have been pursuing physical services from Kara Niver, at Dakota County Physical Therapy, for the past month. I’m pleased to say that my pain level has decreased remarkably as the knee has been carefully treated and strengthened. Kara is an extremely knowledgeable and skillful physical therapist.  With her assistance, I’m confident that I’ll not only avoid surgery, but that I’ll be able to resume all my activities without pain and discomfort.

Physical therapy is not fun but Kara’s enthusiasm and professionalism made it easy.  She took the time by asking questions to determine the source of where my pain was originating from.  The exercises Kara taught me helped to remove the pain caused by a recent surgery.  I would recommend Kara 100% to anyone needing physical therapy!

A wonderful experience! I feel like someone really cares about me and I’m just not another patient. I matter!
